Summary

The Die Cut Lead performs all preparatory duties on cutting die, counter plates, stripping units, and blanking units to minimize down-time on machines.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with supervisor.
  • Communicate scheduling concerns.
  • Give direction to die cutter operators
  • Locate all components for next schedule job on Die Cutters
  • Inventory of all stock items. Maintain accurate die inventory list.
  • Order new dies as requested by D/C operator
  • Cutting of metrics to properly fit creases or counters, put locator pins on.
  • Laying out, cutting, routing and mounting of stripping board.
  • Locate blanker board and set on frame.
  • Locates precut laser die counters and prepares for use.
  • Make up male/female jogging blankers.
  • Cleans finished counter plates and prepares them for re-use if needed
  • Responsible for die shop and location of dies and boards.
  • Able to read and understand schedule board.
  • Good knowledge of job jackets and die vinyls.
  • Adhere to all quality procedures and specifications per company and customer standards.
  • Operate Die cutting machines as needed.
  • Practice total line clearance for all jobs.
  • Performs score bend tests as needed to help D/C operations

Qualifications

  • Responsible for knowing and following all safety rules. Proper and safe conduct is encouraged in and around the facility and machinery. 
  • It is expected that each employee uses proper personal safety protection, protect other associates and company property from accidents, illnesses, and health hazards.
  • Safety is mandatory and will be reviewed when considering job performance, promotions, and other forms of recognition including pay rates.
  • All employees are required to report any potential hazards to the Supervisor and/or the Safety director.
