Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • The 2nd shift/ Night manager
    will have strong accountability for production excellence, continuous improvement, and quality initiatives, able to drive lean manufacturing technology and excellence in customized projects.  
 
  • Reporting to the General Manager, the 2nd shift/ Night manager will be ensuring that policies and procedures are followed and that company assets are protected and maintained.
 
  • The successful individual will be a strong hands-on manager and multi-tasker, qualified and interested in managing all aspects of motivating and administering a capable manufacturing team, to achieve agreed upon objectives.
 
 
  • Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
 
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. 
 
  • Ability to act professionally to establish and maintain good employee relations. 
 
  • Ability to make decisions which the result could be costly to the company. 
 
  • Ability to understand and operate a computer and current software applications relevant to this position.
 
  • Must follow all applicable procedures and make recommendations for system improvements as identified, if applicable.
 
  • Must be capable of keeping accurate records, including the completion of all required forms, and the accurate use of different measuring devices including tape measures, and all other applicable gauges for your responsibilities.
 
  • Assist in establishing and continually improving systems and ensuring enforcement of following the established procedures.
 
  • Performs as a capable guide to employees in all phases of work with a minimum of personal friction or conflict.
 
  • Must teach general plant technique and procedure to employees and evaluate their progress.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five (5) years’ managerial experience 
  • Manufacturing industry experience an asset
  • Hands-on knowledge of mechanical equipment, instrumentation, and electrical equipment
  • Progressive leader, having a sense of urgency and a drive for constant change and improvement
  • Ability to bring fresh ideas and think outside the box
  • Budget conscious
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety and other applicable regulations
  • Proficiency in computer software including MS Word, Outlook and Excel
