Summary

Job Summary

The aerator is responsible for handling and monitoring quality of material that will be converted into finished product; finished product; packaging materials; and related scrap that results from converting as well as other associated processes. The Aerator operates the sheet aerating equipment. Aerator uses control panel to move pallets of sheets into position. Aerator may manually push stacked sheets at the aerator to position sheets. Aerator uses manual pallet jack to move empty and full pallets. Aerator labels loads and uses banding equipment or hand wraps loads. The aerator will assist operators in maintaining optimum quality and efficient production output.

Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Locate and arrange all jobs to be aerated in order of production.
  • Ensure that loads that are centered on a pallet, flush on the press guide side and flat.
  • Aerate all jobs, initial bottom corner of all aerated loads.
  • All rework tags must be in correct spots, initialed, and on side guide side of load along with hand truck under load.
  • Assist Operator in changing to a new load of work.
  • Assist with weekly and semi-annual preventative maintenance.
  • Remove all scrap stock (baskets, etc.) from presses as need be. Baskets must be dumped in baler.  Bales must be maintained along with baler room area.
  • Learn all aspects of the job jackets and its relation to the press production codes and job specifications.
  • Note number of skids coming off the press delivery area to verify correct amount printed; record on back/front of Job Control Procedures Sheet.
  • Wrap skids manually as they come off the press.
  • Assist Operator in all changeovers on press.
  • Assist in set up area when possible.
  • Practice total line clearance for all jobs.
  • Responsible for knowing and complying with all quality, HAACP and PAC Secure facility requirements.
  • Responsible for knowing and complying with all Good Manufacturing Procedures, as well as Safety and PPE policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Responsible for the inherent quality of all support services as they may affect Operations ability to meet its basic quality responsibility.
  • Other duties assigned as dependent on business needs.

Other Requirements:

  • Standing and walking frequently (34-66% of the time), depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend/stoop, squat, climb, reach above shoulder and reach at waist or lower, twist, stretch, carry (up to 28 lbs.), kneel, grasp, fingering, and push/pull (force up to 50 lbs. for 200 feet) occasionally.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. frequently (from floor to waist) and lifting up to 20 lbs. occasionally
  • Requires use of both feet on a continuous basis
  • Requires use of both hands for simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulation and repetitive actions on a continuous basis
  • Ability to read, write, hear, see, speak and have agility on a continuous basis
  • Ability to make independent decisions, apply reasoning and discern colors
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices
  • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment
  • Work in areas of fluctuating temperature and loud noises
  • PPE required: Steel-toed/safety footwear, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Cut resistant Safety Gloves, Hair Net, Beard Net.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication aptitude.
  • Strong mathematical, computer and reading skills.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently as well as with a team.
