Summary

At PaperWorks, we are in pursuit of being recognized as a Great Place to Work®.  To get there, we are looking for a mechanical or electrical engineering intern to join the team in our Baldwinsville, NY folding carton plant.  In this role, you will be reporting directly to the Director of Engineering and will be trained to support numerous engineering projects specifically in the area of robotics automation

Responsibilities

  • This role will be required to support new engineering project initiatives as well as existing automation projects from a design, troubleshooting, training and process improvement perspective.
  • This role will be involved in the identification, design, and installation of engineering projects as identified by the Supervisor.
  • This role will provide training support including off shifts as required to all production and maintenance personnel.
  • This role will be responsible for doing cost benefit analysis on major projects to ensure ROI requirements are met.
  • This role will interface with a wide variety of vendors in the design and quotation phases

 Salary: Min $25.00/hr Max: $25.00/hr.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

 

  • Working towards completion of a Bachelor of Engineering or in a  related field of study from an accredited institution; or just recently completed a bachelor’s degree in engineering within the last 1-2 years or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in taking ownership and initiative of responsibilities and executing them to meet business needs and deliverables.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of such programs as Microsoft ,  CAD and SolidWorks or equivalent
  • Ability to build key relationships with team members across the organization
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills to build relationships and effectively communicate with team members company wide.
  • The ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize work, while maintaining attention to detail is critical.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and implement solutions to correct.
  • Ability to develop relationships with outside vendors required to support these project initiatives.
