Summary

We are seeking an incredibly organized and efficient Inventory Control Planner to join the PaperWorks team.  In this remote, home-based position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring optimal inventory levels to support production efficiency and customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will encompass various facets of inventory management, including forecasting, planning, and analysis. You will work closely with internal and external business partners to drive fulfillment goals and business needs and make meaningful contributions to our business success by being responsible for the planning and management of finished goods based on supplied forecasts and company goals.

Responsibilities

How you will impact PaperWorks:

  • Inventory Forecasting: Utilize historical data, demand patterns, and market trends to forecast inventory needs accurately. Collaborate with sales, production, and supply chain teams to understand demand fluctuations and adjust forecasts accordingly.
  • Inventory Planning: Develop inventory plans and schedules to meet production requirements while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory. Optimize inventory levels to balance customer service levels and cost-effectiveness.
  • Inventory Analysis: Conduct regular analysis of inventory levels, turnover rates, and stock accuracy. Identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and develop strategies to optimize inventory performance.
  • Inventory Control: Implement inventory control policies and procedures to maintain accuracy and integrity of inventory data. Monitor inventory transactions, perform regular cycle counts, and investigate discrepancies to minimize inventory shrinkage and losses.
  • Materials Coordination: Work closely with material planners to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and components based on inventory forecasts. Coordinate with suppliers to monitor lead times, manage supplier relationships, and address any supply chain disruptions.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, sales, finance, and logistics, to align inventory plans with overall business objectives. Communicate inventory status, issues, and recommendations effectively to stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. Additional certifications in inventory management or supply chain are a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience in inventory planning, preferably within a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of inventory control principles and techniques. Experience in folding carton or packaging industry is a plus. Experience with ERP systems and other relevant software tools used in supply chain management. Familiarity with AVP and/or CCH is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and make data-driven decisions. Proficiency in inventory management software and advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and communicate complex inventory concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset. Ability to anticipate potential inventory challenges and implement proactive measures to mitigate risks.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and accuracy in inventory planning and analysis, with a focus on maintaining high standards of inventory integrity and data accuracy.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability to adapt to changing business priorities, market conditions, and production requirements.
