As a Die Cutter Pre-Make Ready team member, you will perform all preparatory duties relating to cutting die, counter plates, stripping units, and blanking units to minimize down-time on machines.

Responsibilities

How you will impact PaperWorks:

  • Places rubber in appropriate places on new dies.
  • Selects correct type and size of cito, cuts to size and applies to die when required.
  • Builds stripping and blanking units in pre-make ready tables.
  • Cleans finished counter plates and prepares them for re-use if needed.
  • Locates precut laser die counters and prepares for use.
  • Obtains rub tests for die cutters.
  • Performs score bend tests as needed to help D/C operations.
  • Must be capable of keeping accurate records, including the completion of all required forms; and the accurate use of different measuring devices including tape measures, and all other applicable gauges for your responsibilities.
  • Must follow all applicable procedures and make recommendations for system improvements as identified.
  • Order new dies as requested by D/C operator

Qualifications

What you will need to be successful:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum of one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Manufacturing machine experience strongly preferred.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and comprehend documents and verbal instructions in English for Safety, ISO, and work related tasks. 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.  
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. 
  • Must have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
