    Responsibilities

    The Quality Manager is responsible for strategic, tactical and operational quality planning; promoting and maintaining quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization;   and liaison with customers and vendors.

    • Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality objectives.
    • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service.
    • Investigate customer issues and complaints relating to quality and verify complete follow through of corrective actions
    • Assure incoming quality of vendor-supplied parts through pre-award surveys, vendor surveillance and other means.
    • Work with site leadership to ensure production processes and quality procedures maximize reliability and minimize costs.
    • Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
    • Assure customer specifications and inspection records are properly maintained.
    • Oversee internal audits and external audit preparation and address non-conformities
    • Ensure organizational systems and training is in place.
    • Operate within policies & procedures, and maintain compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements; including compliance with Occupational Health and Safety procedures and SafeStart practices
    • Monitor and manage the Quality Management System. Facilitate changes to QMS as needed for process improvement
    • Control and operate monitoring and measuring devices needed for testing and calibration records.
    • Initiate problem and complaint resolution data through root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent.  Minimum 7-10 years' related experience required, at least 3 in a supervisory/management capacity. 
    • Experience with developing/documenting procedures.
    • Experience utilizing Quality Engineering methods and Lean Manufacturing techniques
    • Experience with GIFS, SQF, or other related audit programs.
    • Quality orientation, high attention to detail and superior organizational skills
    • Ability to read and interpret information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and implement solutions to correct. 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal, teambuilding and leadership skills.
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
    • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Applications.
