  • Overview

    The Human Resources Associate supports the Human Resources Manager in all aspects of HR including, but not limited to, the development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of the following areas: employee relations, training, temporary employee management, recruitment and interviewing.

    Responsibilities

    • Answers routine inquiries from inside and outside the company on HR-related matters in line with written company policy.
    • Requisitions temporary personnel from staffing agencies as needed. Verifies agency employees’ time records and forwards information to agencies and Finance Department. Greets agency employees, provides them with personal protective equipment, oversees initial safety training, and escorts them to assigned supervisor or department when on shift.

    • Assists with recruiting for various openings
    • Updates ADP Workforcenow for hourly employee changes.
    • Maintains employment resumes, application forms, etc. in line with company policy. Coordinates interviews and phone screen. Utilizes iCIMS. Participates in interviews for hourly positions.
    • Maintains employee personnel files and training records in line with company policies and government regulations. Retains records in line with company record retention requirements.
    • Schedules flights, rental cars and hotel reservations as requested. Orders lunches as requested.
    • Manages relationship with uniform and cafeteria vendors.
    • Maintains communication bulletin boards.
    • Provides assistance to EHS and other functional groups as required.

    Qualifications

    • 3+ year’s Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing organization

    • Knowledge of NYS employment and labor law

    • Experience with recruiting and interviewing
    • Ability to read and interpret information, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and implement solutions to correct.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) is a must.
